Fees

Currently, the standard rate recommended by the Australian Psychological Society is $267 (for an appointment between 45-60 minutes long). Alicia's fees are lower than this and she will be happy to discuss this with you when you make contact.

Alicia is registered to provide psychological services under Medicare's Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative. This means that if you are referred by your GP under this Scheme, you will receive a rebate of $129.55 per session from Medicare for up to 20 sessions in a calendar year (1 January to 31 December). You will need to be assessed by your GP as having an eligible mental health problem, and receive a referral from your GP under the Better Access Scheme. Please ask your GP for more information about this scheme or read this Medicare fact sheet. Some doctors require you book a long appointment for this assessment and referral. Please bring this referral with you to your first appointment to claim this rebate.

Alicia is also registered with major private health funds. Many health funds will refund part of the fee for psychological services as long as you have a sufficient level of cover. There may be a limit on the amount claimed per year. Please contact your health fund to find out if you are covered for psychological services. You may wish to consider this option if you are not referred under the Medicare Scheme. Please note you cannot claim under your health fund if you are already receiving a rebate under the Medicare Scheme for a session.

Your session fee can be paid by cash or credit/debit card at the end of your appointment.  You will then be issued with a receipt to claim your rebate from Medicare if you are claiming under the Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative.

Alicia also has discounted fees for low-income earners. Please contact her directly for more details.
